Defining a Model Template

Create a model template based on the current model, which other KnowledgeKube users can use to create their own applications.

Implementation:

  1. Open the model you want to use as a template.
  2. Use the KnowledgeKube toolbar to navigate to ModelTemplateDefinition. This opens the Template Definition window, where you can define various settings related to the model's use as a template.
  3. Give the template a unique Template Name that accurately describes its purpose.
  4. (Optional) You can also provide a Description to inform people what the intended use of the template is, what content it will produce, and what - if any - tasks must be completed during its use.

If no description is provided, "No further information available" will appear instead.

  1. (Optional) Use Provided By to set the name of the model's creator, which will appear in the template's details when other users view it.
  2. (Optional) Provide a URL in Template Web Page, which will turn the name you specified in Provided By into a hyperlink, directing to this address.
  3. In the Image tab, you can assign a preview image to the template definition. You can either upload an image by selecting Pick a File From a Local or Network Drive, or select Use an Image From the Internet to specify an image by providing a URL.

The image should ideally be no larger than 256x256 pixels. Larger images will still appear, but will be compressed to fit the size limit.

  1. Switch to the Categories tab. Here you can assign one or more categories to the template. End users can filter available templates by category, making it easier to find what they need.
  2. Select the categories you want to assign in the All Available Categories list and click Add. To remove a category, select it in Template Categories and click Remove.
  3. Switch to the Tasks tab.
  4. If applicable, add any template tasks that users must complete before creating a model based on the template.
  5. When you have finished configuring the template definition, click Save to apply your changes and close the current window.
