Creating a Dynamic Document Item
Upload a suitable .doc or .docx document to a KnowledgeKube model, from where it can be used as a dynamic document item.
Implementation:
- Create a document, add static and dynamic content, and save it as a .doc or .docx file.
For more information about the type of content you can include in your Word document, refer to Appendix: Writing Dynamic Documents for KnowledgeKube.
- In KnowledgeKube, switch to the Definition tab.
- Click to open the Manage Documents interface.
- Click to open the Add Document Item wizard.
Alternatively, click Add at the bottom of the Manage Documents dialog to open the wizard.
- Select the Word Document radio button.
- Click Next.
- Click the browse button (marked with an ellipsis).
- Locate and double-click the document you want to upload.
The chosen document's file name will be used to generate a Document Name and Keyword for your new document item.
- (Optional) Change the default Document Name and Keyword.
- Click Next.
- (Optional) If you want to make any changes to your document item before saving it, use the Document Item window to do so.
- (Optional) Switch to the Document Preview panel to see a preview of your document item.
- Click Save to complete the conversion of your document into a KnowledgeKube dynamic document item.
After you create a dynamic document item, you must keep the source file in a network location accessible to anyone who might need to edit the document item using the KnowledgeKube back office tool. You will also need to ensure that the source document's file name remains the same. If either of these things change, the existing document item may become inaccessible, meaning a new one must be created to replace it.
