Appendix: Creating a Free Text Question
A Free Text question consists of a text field where the end user can type any alphanumeric value - including letters, numbers and certain symbols.
Implementation:
- Switch to the Definition tab.
- Select the intended question group.
- Add a question and change its type to Free Text or Memo/Multi-line Free Text.
- Free Text - A single-line text field, ideally suited for providing short responses, such as the user's name or address.
- Memo/Multi-line Free Text - An expanded version that provides several lines. This is best used for longer responses, such as user feedback.
- Use the Question Text field to enter the text you want to appear alongside the Free Text question.
- Enter a unique keyword in the Question Keyword field.
- (Optional) If you want to pass the provided response to a variable, select the intended one in the Target Model Variable drop-down menu.
- (Optional) (Free Text only) To connect your question to a data source, click Data Source.
- (Optional) Switch to Further Question Options and change the settings as required.
- Click Save Question.
